Why Upstart Blogger?
Upstart Blogger is about how to start a blog, and how to become a blogging upstart—a blogger who achieves success rapidly. I’ll cover everything from creating and launching a new blog to maintaining, promoting, and profiting from a successful blog.
Who’s behind Upstart Blogger?
Upstart Blogger is published by me, Ashley Morgan. I’m a jazz trumpeter, freelance musician and blogger. I’ve published several blogs, including my portfolio blog ashleymorgan.com, my personal blog brassrevolver.com. I’m not ready to give up my day gig as a jazz musician, but my blogging efforts produce a significant, growing income without a huge time investment.

It doesn’t happen very often, but if your comment is too self-promoting, or inconsiderate, or full of profanity, or blatantly spam, it will be edited or deleted. Comments are moderated, so please be patient. If you want to post an affiliate link, post a worthwhile comment and a link back to your site. That’s fine. If you’re upset about something, that’s fine, too. But wait until you calm down before posting. Otherwise, this is a pretty tolerant place.
Will you help me setup my new blog?
Yes. What blogging software do you use?
Upstart Blogger is powered by WordPress. In the past I have used Blogger, Moveable Type and Typo but none of them come close to Wordpress for professional blogging.
Who designed Upstart Blogger?
The current design of Upstart Blogger is the work of Robert Ellis, the previous owner and founder. You can find Robert at Futurosity, his personal blog. Most of the designs that Robert made have been released as free WordPress themes. Check out the Downloads page.
Who do you host with? Do you recommend them?
Upstart Blogger is currently hosted by AN Hosting. And yes, I do recommend them. In the past I have used a number of different hosts, Dreamhost, Hostgator, Bluehost and many others, but none are as good as AN Hosting. They currently offer a $4.95 per month package that includes 500gb of space, 5tb (yes, Terrabytes) of bandwidth, 50 domains, and a whole lot more. Free 24/7 live technical support is also included. I can honestly say that I have never had such a wonderful hosting experience. All my sites are now hosted under one $4.95 per month account at AN Hosting. If you don’t have hosting then you should sign up with AN Hosting. If you already have hosting elsewhere you should consider moving to AN Hosting. They really are that good.
