It’s here, the Upstart Blogger Underscore Wordpress theme. And if you are reading in a web browser this then you are looking at the theme in action. Underscore is happy in Wordpress 2.0+ and has been tested in Wordpress 2.5.
All the plugins required to run the theme are included in the download folder. There are quite a few since the theme has a few trick features. When you download the zip file just extract the whole thing and upload the contents of the theme folder to your Wordpress theme folder and the contents of the plugins folder to your wordpress plugins folder. Select ub-underscore in your presentation panel, activate all the plugins, and you’re good to go.
The theme does contain advertisements but they are only in place as an example. You are free to remove them and replace them with your own. However, please keep the link back to Upstart Blogger in the footer.
A little work needs to be done to make the theme personal to you. The top menu will need editing with your own links. You can find everything you need for this in the header.php file. It’s easy to find and what needs to be done is obvious if you have a basic knowledge of html. Likewise, the sidebar is just waiting to be filled with your stuff. Delete my example text and add your own in sidebar.php.
Have fun with it. It’s an ideal theme if you are looking for a text based minimalist design.

Unlike traditional themes where the sidebar is cluttered with archives, the Underscore sidebar is completely editable. Simply open the sidebar.php file in a text editor and make any changes you like.
