The Mother’s Day Soirée, a yearly sold out event, spotlights the diverse women of Houston who have made an impact in the community. It bridges the ethnic and the mainstream with a focus on community. “The idea came to me one cold winter evening in 2013 to host an event where I could bring my segments and columns to highlight the many amazing international mothers,” says Ruchi.

Attending this very exclusive soiree kickoff were: BVLGARI Store Manager Stephanie Von Stein, Dominique Sachse, Toni and Howard Tate, Mehrnaz Gill, Miya Shay, Debbie Festari, Farida Abjani, Rebecca Brinkley, Geeta Anand, Gina Li, Sadaf Chaudhry, Rob Todd, Ella Markovsky, Jerri Moore, Edward Sanchez, Dr. Huma Nawab, Arend Basile, and Sharron Melton. Each and every attendee received a bottle of the iconic green or white tea lotion similar to what guests find at the Ritz Carlton hotels all over the world.

The 2016 Soirée will be hosted on May 5th at the newly renovated Saks Fifth Avenue in the Houston Galleria, with special guest of honor, international perfumer Kilian Hennessy. The event will highlight the charity TUTS The River that provides accessible affordable fine arts education for individuals with disabilities. This will be the first event Saks will host after its re-grand opening, so you know we will be doubly excited to be there to honor these amazing women and to see the new Saks.
